FOR RELEASE — On Thursday, August 18, at 6 p.m., the City of Greeley Museums will host a public input meeting at the Meeker Home Museum, 1324 9th Ave. The purpose of the meeting is to gather information from nearby residents as the museum system develops its long-range plan for its various properties. During the public meeting staff and residents will discuss plans for the property’s future.
The Meeker Home, built in 1870, is a unique adobe two-story home originally built for the City of Greeley’s founding family. Greeley residents organized and purchased the home in 1929 to be the city’s first municipal museum.
The museum, listed on the National Register of Historic Places, is open by appointment only.
