FOR RELEASE: The Greeley History Museum, 714 8th St., is hosting a free event, the Holiday Heritage Open House, on Saturday, Nov. 28, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Fun for the whole family, the open house will not only include free admission to the museum’s exhibits, but will also have holiday crafts, snacks and pictures with Cowboy Santa. In addition, the Hazel E. Johnson Research Center, located in the lower level of the museum, will have a display featuring communication through the holidays. The display includes letters, family recipes, calling cards, postcards, and more from the museum’s collection.
The event is being held in conjunction with the Downtown Development Authority’s Holiday Open House event. Visitors will receive a bingo card and have the opportunity to go to participating downtown businesses to fill it out. The event continues that evening with the Greeley Lights the Night Parade, sponsored by the Greeley Chamber of Commerce, the Downtown Development Authority and the City of Greeley. The parade also takes place downtown, culminating with a tree lighting ceremony in Lincoln Park. The parade runs from 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m.
