History Brown Bag: How to Care for Old Photos @ Greeley History Museum | Greeley | Colorado | United States

According to the Library of Congress, historians and the public should take proper care when handling photographic materials by: Having clean hands and wearing non-scratching, microfiber or nitrile gloves; having a clean work area; Keeping food and drink away; Not marking photographs, even on the back side; Not using paper clips or other fasteners to mark or organize prints; And by not using rubber bands, self-adhesive tape, and/or glue on photographic materials.  Heather Peterson is the National and State Register Historian from History Colorado and is coming to Greeley to give a presentation on caring for older photographic images. This presentation is open to museum staffers and the general public alike.

History Brown Bags are free afternoon events that aim to provide cultural and historical context to topics related to Historic Preservation in and around Greeley. Unless otherwise noted, presentations are held from noon to 1 p.m. at the Greeley History Museum, 714 8th St. For more information about the Historic Preservation program, visit GreeleyGov.com/ HP or call 970-350-9222.
